GetSmart Token allows any Sponsor to create and issue verifiable credentials to any Earner(s) basically free and without third parties.
For example, you pay a carpenter on a cash basis and want to certify that this person did a good job over a year, you can create a “Experienced Carpenter” digital badge in five minutes, for one to a thousand, and in the Award Criteria section of the badge form write “The earner of this certificate has worked for one year as a painter of modern exteriors and has done an excellent job.”
You also dictate any evidence, the timing of the award, and the value in tokens. Once you click “Create” your badge(s) are available privately and the Carpenter can apply with a click and you can approve with a click.
The Carpenter (Earner) receives the badge and tokens which automatically verifies the transaction on blockchain, so outside reviewers back in the Carpenter’s home country or new country can see their record.
Depending on how many $GETS tokens you’ve decided to give with each badge, the Carpenter gets these as a bonus and can trade them with other cryptocurrency, while at the same time they own their badge and nobody can take it from them.

GetSmart Token ($GETS) is a ERC1155 ‘multiutility token’ built on the Polygon blockchain. $GETS will fund education for the underprivileged, educate people about DeFi, certify informal workers and erase student debt for distressed borrowers at the same time. $GETS are not an investment and token holders agree that any staking rewards be used for the nonprofit to use for experimental public charitable purposes listed on this website and in the governance documents.
If the volume and value of $GETS increases, then more staking rewards are available to purchase student debt and more tokens available to trade for cryptocurrencies and other rewards.
Since $GETS fuels the Web3 badges system, the more people who create GETS badges and sponsor education, the more the token might increase in value. If you buy $GETS, do not stake, and the value increases or decreases, you can swap them for other Ethereum-compatible tokens.
The only information needed for an account is a valid email address. Whatever information in the evidence, description, and award criteria is up to the Sponsor and Earner. Whatever the Sponsor and Earner call themselves is adaptable but what is not is their Blockchain address. This wallet can identify a person if that person is connected to the above address.
GETS badges and tokens are not legal contracts. GETS badges and tokens are “awards” in the form of utility tokens. The smart contract independently verifies records without sacrificing privacy. If you say “Johnny worked 12 hours” that is a contract. But if you say “The earner of this award built a cabinet in 12 hours and did an excellent job, as evidenced by this photo of the cabinet,” Johnny is the applicant, you are the award giver. You both have blockchain accounts connected to your email address. But viewers of the badge can only see your (given) name, date of issue, and the transaction record.
It works like this:
1 Trillion total supply = 1 billion scholarships.
1000 tokens become “minted” or available for distribution for each badge awarded and claimed. That means people can donate and receive tokens, which can be used for badges or traded or held in custody.
Thus, when 1 billion scholarships are accomplished, 1 trillion tokens are in circulation – and backed up by the 501c3 surplus.
As the badges are personal remembrances of success, all the tokens connected to those achievements become collectible items.
And for each 100 billion tokens minted, the badge creation fee drops by 10%, thus when all tokens are minted the badge-making process becomes free of charge.
The first 20 million tokens are at the disposal of the Digital Financial Aid Corporation, a US501c3 nonprofit. For every 1000 tokens minted, 80% are available for use by our donors or beneficiaries and 20% to the GetSmartToken community for any use outlined in the policies.
