Who we are
Digital Financial Aid Corporation
A 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit dedicated to democratising independent education and skills recognition for workers, learners, and communities worldwide.
Our Mission
We believe that learning and skills should be verifiable, portable, and rewarded — regardless of where someone was born, what school they attended, or how much money they have. Too many workers across the world hold genuine skills that no credential system recognises. Too many students carry debt for qualifications that don't reflect what they actually know.
GetSmart Token is our answer: a free platform that issues independently-verified skill credentials on the Base blockchain and rewards educational achievement with $GETS — a non-tradable utility token that unlocks further learning, not speculation.
What $GETS is — and isn't
$GETS is a utility token issued solely to recognise educational achievement within the GetSmart platform. It is:
- ✅ A record of learning milestones stored on-chain
- ✅ A scholarship reward redeemable for further courses and resources
- ✅ Freely earned by completing verified educational activities
- ❌ Not listed on any cryptocurrency exchange
- ❌ Not an investment product or financial instrument
- ❌ Not tradable for cash or other currencies
- ❌ Not a security under US or international law
