Anyone can take the course — there is no age limit and no account needed to learn. To claim badges and $GETS tokens you create a GetSmart Token account, and learners under 18 need a parent or guardian to approve it first.

Open a mission on this site and your CitiZen guide introduces the idea. You read it, then do the task yourself — nothing is marked by a machine. When you have finished, you apply for that mission's badge in your GetSmart Token account, and whoever issued it reviews what you sent. Approved badges carry real $GETS tokens. Apply for your mission badges before the deadline or your tokens will be burned.

“Is this crypto or speculation?”
A rewards scheme, not a cryptocurrency.
$GETS are utility tokens issued by an IRS-verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit. They work like points in a loyalty or rewards scheme, redeemable for merchandise and discounts at approved vendors, and are not traded or listed anywhere. The badges are a separate thing again: independently verifiable certifications a student keeps for life, at no cost to them.

“Where does student work actually go?”
We store nothing. One mission never touches a network at all.
GetSmart operates no student database — our AI endpoint is a stateless pass-through that writes nothing to disk. Mission 5 runs Gemma entirely on-device in the browser via WebGPU, so that work never leaves the machine. The other nine missions send the prompt to Google's Gemini API for processing, under Google's API terms, and the response is returned without being retained by us.
We publish the full data-flow table below rather than asking you to take a blanket privacy claim on trust.

The story is a gamified wrapper designed to hold attention through ten technical missions. The actual learning objectives are hallucination detection, prompt engineering, AI ethics, source verification, edge computing, and building a working AI agent.
