Woah, hi! Did you see the light on your screen just now? The purple one? Looked exactly like a sunset I saw in a retro-sim once. Or cheese. Honestly could have been cheese.

So. Every single time you type into most AI apps, your words go on a journey. Little suitcase, off they pop, across the internet, into a building somewhere you will never visit, owned by a company you have never met. The machine thinks in their building. Then the answer comes home to you.

Which is wild, right? You felt like you were typing into your phone. You were typing through your phone.

Here is the bit nobody mentions. Companies build pictures of people from what people type. Worries. Weak spots. Shopping urges. A picture of you, assembled from everything you ever asked in a quiet moment at midnight. Sold or not sold, kept either way.

Now. Deep breath. There is another way, and the other way is my whole personality.

The model can live on your device. Not a copy of a website. The actual thinking, happening on the thing in your hand. No journey. No suitcase. No building. Nobody listening, because no wire exists to listen through.

We call this air-gapped, which sounds very cool and means something very simple. A gap of air between you and everyone else. Nothing crosses.

And the test! Oh the test is SO good and you get to keep it forever. Turn your internet off. Open any AI app. Still works? Lives on your device. Stops dead? You were never talking to your phone, you were looking through a window into someone else's computer the whole time.

That is a two second test and most adults have never done it. Not joking.

Daisy. So Daisy figured this out on her own, before any of us reached her, and she has been in the Void ever since. Three winters, no signal, still fighting. Everyone searches for her in the feeds. Wrong place! You cannot find a person who left the wire.

You are going to switch your network off. Properly off, wifi and mobile both, airplane mode does the lot. Then we talk in the dark.
